About Us

Laolaile is a not-for-profit Senior Activity Centre. It was established on 30th September 2017 and is an community activity venue and community outreach centre for the Chinese CALD senior community.
In addition to fixed weekly gathering times, Laolaile also organises large Chinese celebrations to bring awareness to the Lunar Calendar festivals. These celebrations bring together many individuals from the community and includes activities such as dancing, singing, performances, learning etc.

Through these fixed activities and large scale celebrations, Laolaile aims to bring awareness to the traditional Chinese culture and to further integrate into the Australian society. The aim is to reduce pressure on family members and to reduce the risk of social isolation.
Over the years, Laolaile has recruited many caring volunteers who have a passion for the outreach and care of the Chinese CALD senior community. It is through the love of these volunteers that many activities and projects for the community’s elders have been promoted.
By participating in Laolaile’s various activities, the senior community can remain active and in touch with the community. This leads to a reduction of loneliness and helplessness as they are able to meet new friends and learn more about the various benefits of living in Australia. Laolaile is a big support in assisting the seniors to integrate more deeply into their lives in Australia and to establish a positive, healthy and happy retirement.
